Our client has been operating since 1984. On their behalf, we are seeking a motivated and customer-focused Service IT Technician to join our growing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the installation, configuration, maintenance, and repair of Point of Sale (POS) systems, computers, networking equipment, scanners, printers, and other related technology solutions at customer locations across Jamaica.
- Responsibilities/Duties
Responsibilities:
- Install, configure, and support POS systems and related software.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot hardware, software, and network issues.
- Perform preventive maintenance and equipment repairs.
- Configure and support printers, barcode scanners, cash drawers, and other peripherals. Provide on-site and remote technical support to customers.
- Maintain accurate service reports and documentation.
- Deliver excellent customer service while representing the company professionally. Assist with equipment setup, testing, and training as required.
- Adhere to company policies, procedures, and safety standards.
- Skills & Certifications
Requirements:
- Diploma, Certificate, or Associate Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Electronics, or a related field.
- Minimum of one (1) year experience in technical support, IT services, or a similar role.
- Knowledge of computer hardware, software, networking, and troubleshooting.
- Experience with POS systems would be an asset.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Valid Driver’s Licence and ability to travel island-wide.
