TalentBox Caribbean Limited is a Jamaica-based staffing, HR outsourcing, payroll, and Employer of Record (EOR) firm. We help local and international companies hire, deploy, and manage Jamaican talent — handling everything from executive search and general recruiting to fully compliant EOR employment, payroll, and statutory administration. Our clients span hospitality, retail, manufacturing, media, and financial services. Our EOR solution allows overseas companies to employ staff in Jamaica without setting up a local entity. We are growing fast, and we need a hunter to grow faster.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Business Development Officer is an aggressive, quota-driven sales role responsible for winning new business across two service lines: Recruiting Services (executive search and general recruiting) and EOR Solutions. Your market is any company — in Jamaica or overseas — that needs to hire Jamaican talent, and your job is to find them before they find anyone else.

This is a role for a genuine hunter. You will build your own pipeline from scratch through cold calling, cold emailing, and LinkedIn Sales Navigator prospecting. You will not be handed warm leads — you will create them. If hours of searching, researching, and qualifying prospects bores you, this is not your role. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Prospecting & Lead Generation

  • Research, identify, and qualify prospective clients locally and internationally — companies hiring in Jamaica, expanding into the Caribbean, or seeking offshore/nearshore talent.
  • Execute high-volume, multi-channel outbound campaigns: cold calls, personalized cold email sequences, and LinkedIn Sales Navigator outreach.
  • Build and maintain targeted prospect lists using research, sales intelligence tools, and automation platforms.
  • Leverage sales automation (e.g., Saleshandy, Apollo.io, Instantly.ai, or similar) to scale outreach without sacrificing personalization, continuously testing and refining sequences for reply and conversion rates.

Sales Execution & Pipeline Management

  • Own the full sales cycle from first touch to signed agreement: discovery calls, needs analysis, service presentations, proposal development, negotiation, and close.
  • Pitch and articulate the commercial case for both Recruiting Services (contingency and retained search) and EOR Solutions (compliant employment, payroll, and HR administration in Jamaica) to decision-makers ranging from startup founders to international HR directors.
  • Maintain a rigorously clean and current pipeline in the CRM (e.g., Recruit CRM), with accurate staging, next actions, close dates, and value forecasting — complete command of your pipeline is a core expectation, not an aspiration.
  • Consistently meet or exceed monthly and quarterly targets for outreach activity, qualified meetings booked, proposals sent, and revenue generated.
  • Prepare and deliver polished proposals, service agreements, and pricing presentations in collaboration with the CEO.

Relationship & Market Development

  • Convert closed clients into long-term accounts, identifying cross-sell opportunities between recruiting mandates and EOR engagements.
  • Represent TalentBox at networking events, business forums, and virtual industry gatherings.
  • Feed market intelligence — competitor positioning, pricing signals, demand trends — back to management to sharpen the company’s go-to-market approach.

KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS

  • Outbound activity volume: calls made, emails sent, LinkedIn touches, and connection-to-conversation rates.
  • Qualified discovery meetings booked per week/month.
  • Proposals issued and proposal-to-close conversion rate.
  • New recruiting mandates and EOR contracts signed (count and revenue value).
  • Pipeline coverage, accuracy, and velocity (time from first touch to close).
  • Revenue closed against monthly and quarterly targets.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum of three (3) years’ proven success in B2B sales or business development, with a demonstrable, verifiable track record of achieving sales targets — preferably in the services industry (Fintech, Managed Services, SaaS, BPO, staffing, or similar).
  • Hands-on proficiency with cold calling, cold email campaigns, and LinkedIn Sales Navigator is mandatory.
  • Complete understanding of pipeline management — staging, qualification frameworks, forecasting — and demonstrated use of automation tools to generate results at scale.
  • Experience with CRM platforms and outbound automation tools (e.g., Recruit CRM, Saleshandy, Apollo.io, Instantly.ai, HubSpot, or comparable).
  • Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Business, Marketing, or a related field is an asset; a verifiable hunting record matters more.
  • Knowledge of recruiting, staffing, HR outsourcing, or EOR services is a strong advantage but not required — we will teach the product; we cannot teach hunger.

KEY COMPETENCIES

  • A genuine hunter’s mentality — self-sourcing, relentless, energized rather than bored by prospect research and list building.
  • An excellent orator: confident, articulate, and persuasive on the phone, on video calls, and in the boardroom, with the ability to command a conversation with C-level decision-makers.
  • Exceptional written communication for high-converting cold outreach.
  • Resilience and comfort with rejection — high call volumes and low initial reply rates do not shake you.
  • Strong organization and self-discipline; you manage your own day around activity targets without supervision.
  • Commercial curiosity — you research a prospect’s business well enough to open with relevance, not a generic script.
