We are looking for an organized, proactive, and people-focused Human Resources Manager / HR Generalist to oversee the day-to-day HR needs of the company. This person will work closely with leadership and employees to manage recruiting, onboarding, employee relations, policies, benefits, performance management, and overall company culture.

The ideal candidate is approachable, professional, highly organized, and able to handle sensitive employee matters with discretion.

Key Responsibilities

Recruiting & Hiring

  • Manage the recruiting process from job posting through offer.
  • Create and maintain job descriptions for open positions.
  • Screen resumes and conduct initial interviews.
  • Coordinate interviews with managers and leadership.
  • Conduct reference and background checks as needed.
  • Prepare offer letters and employment documentation.
  • Maintain relationships with recruiters and staffing agencies when necessary.

Employee Onboarding & Offboarding

  • Manage the complete onboarding process for new employees.
  • Coordinate new-hire paperwork, benefits enrollment, equipment, and system access.
  • Conduct new-hire orientation and communicate company policies and expectations.
  • Ensure employees have a positive and organized first-day experience.
  • Manage employee resignations and terminations professionally.
  • Conduct exit interviews and complete offboarding documentation.

Employee Relations

  • Serve as the primary HR contact for employees.
  • Address employee questions, concerns, conflicts, and workplace issues.
  • Work with management to resolve employee-relations matters fairly and professionally.
  • Maintain confidentiality when handling sensitive employee information.
  • Help create a positive, professional, and accountable workplace culture.
  • Support managers with coaching, documentation, and difficult employee conversations.

Performance Management

  • Coordinate employee performance reviews.
  • Help managers establish goals and expectations for employees.
  • Assist with performance improvement plans and employee documentation.
  • Track employee performance issues and follow-up requirements.
  • Support leadership with promotions, compensation changes, and organizational decisions.

Policies & Compliance

  • Maintain and update the employee handbook and company HR policies.
  • Ensure required employee documentation is completed and maintained.
  • Maintain organized and confidential personnel files.
  • Help ensure company practices comply with applicable employment laws and regulations.
  • Monitor PTO, attendance, leaves of absence, and other employee-related policies.

Payroll & Benefits Support

  • Coordinate employee information and changes with payroll.
  • Assist employees with benefits enrollment and questions.
  • Manage new hires, terminations, compensation changes, and deductions with payroll and benefits providers.
  • Review employee records for accuracy.
  • Coordinate annual benefits enrollment.

Culture & Employee Engagement

  • Help create and maintain a positive company culture.
  • Coordinate employee events, celebrations, recognition programs, and team-building activities.
  • Help leadership improve employee communication and engagement.
  • Identify opportunities to improve employee satisfaction and retention.
  • Be a trusted resource for both employees and management.

Qualifications

  • Previous Human Resources, People Operations, or employee-management experience.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Knowledge of recruiting, onboarding, employee relations, and HR best practices.
  • Understanding of employment laws and HR compliance requirements.
  • Experience working with payroll, benefits, HRIS, or employee-management systems preferred.
  • Strong organizational and administrative skills.
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred but not required depending on experience.
