Real Estate Broker

The Qualifying Broker is responsible for ensuring that the brokerage is  operated in compliance with the rules and regulations governing the provision of Real Estate professional services in the local real estate industry. Working closely with other members of the management team, the incumbent ensures that the business operates efficiently and effectively according to the company’s priorities and principles.

RESPONSIBILITIES (Includes but not limited to the following)

  • Provide supervision and support to Real Estate Agents in their field of work.
  • Partner with agents to purchase, sell and lease or rent real estate properties to clients within the target markets identified.
  • Provide information regarding legal guidelines, rates, specifications and property availability.
  • Ensure that all real estate transactions initiated are in complete compliance with the Real Estate Board and the applicable laws and regulations relating to the purchase, sale or lease of a property.
  • Assist sellers through Agents, how to best promote their properties to attract advantageous offers.
  • Represent the agents in disputes with other brokerages and clients.
  • Guide agents in the advertising of properties through a variety of marketing techniques • Assist with the selection and on boarding of new and experienced Agents
  • Conduct continuous Agent training.
  • Provide coaching and mentorship especially with underperforming Agents.
  • Perusing documents submitted by Agents to ensure compliance with industry regulations and attending to legal matters.
  • Review contracts to ensure compliance with Real Estate Board Policies and procedures
  • Mediate the dealings between sellers and buyers ensuring good conduct and the honest exchange of information towards a beneficial understanding.
  • Prepare and submit anti-money laundering report.
  • Review and endorse job letters to the Real Estate Board and Realtors Association of Jamaica
  • Remain knowledgeable about the market and best practices by keeping abreast of changes in policy by the Real Estate Board of Jamaica and Real estate practices across the globe.
  • Perform other duties that may be assigned as required.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & COMPETENCIES

  • Knowledge of the laws governing the Real Estate business in Jamaica .
  • Proven working experience as a Real Estate Broker.
  • Strong Supervisory Management skills.
  • Strong Written and oral communication Skills
  • Excellent people skills and negotiation skills.
  • A strong, flexible, professional and cooperative attitude.
  • Have a high level of initiative, accountability and integrity.
  • Valid license to practice the profession of real estate broker.
  • Strong understanding of sales and marketing principles.

KEY QUALIFICATIONS

  • At least a Certificate in Real Estate Training.
  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Real Estate or Sales & Marketing or any other related discipline would be an asset.
  • Real Estate Training and Broker License is a must.
  • At least three (3) years of real estate sales agent experience and two (2) as a Broker.

Located in Kingston, Jamaica, this position involves working in a structured office environment with a strong focus on administrative tasks and procurement operations.
