Production Manager

On our client’s behalf, we are seeking an experienced Production Manager to lead and optimize their food manufacturing operations. This role is ideal for a results-driven professional with a strong background in production planning, food safety, and team management.

The successful candidate will oversee daily production activities, ensure compliance with quality and regulatory standards, drive process improvements, and manage costs while maintaining efficiency. Responsibilities include supervising production teams, optimizing equipment and inventory management, and collaborating with other departments to achieve operational excellence

You will be engaged in:

  • Production Planning and Management: Plan, organize, and direct production activities to meet customer demand, quality standards, and cost objectives.
  • Food Safety and Quality: Ensure compliance with food safety regulations, company policies, and quality standards. Implement and maintain HACCP, GMP, and other quality management systems.
  • Team Management: Supervise and develop a team of production supervisors and line workers, while fostering a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
  • Process and Equipment Optimization: Analyze production processes, identify areas for improvement, and implement changes to increase efficiency, reduce waste, and improve product quality.
  • Inventory Management: Manage inventory levels, track production yields, and optimize material usage to minimize waste and reduce costs.
  • Budgeting and Cost Control: Manage production budgets, track expenses, and implement cost-saving initiatives to achieve financial objectives.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Support compliance process with relevant regulations, such as FDA, USDA, and OSHA standards, as well as BSJ & MOH.
  • Enterprise Resource Planning: Execute ERP transactions for production orders .
  • Communication: Collaborate with other departments, including Engineering & Maintenance, Quality Assurance, Warehouse, and Sales, to ensure alignment and effective communication.

 

What You Bring to the Table:

  • Strong Leadership Skills: Proven experience in managing teams and fostering a collaborative environment.
  • Technical Proficiency: Knowledge of milk-based production, pasteurization, homogenization, and filtration.
  • Analytical Abilities: Ability to identify, analyze, and solve production-related challenges with innovative problem-solving.
  • ERP Expertise: Skilled in ERP software (Microsoft Dynamics – Business Central) and timekeeping tools (Easy Clocking).
  • Quality & Safety Focus: Commitment to maintaining quality standards, including Food Safety, GMP, and Personal Hygiene Policy.

What Should You Have:

  • Education: Tertiary level qualifications in Business Administration, Operations, Engineering, Industrial Technology, or related field
  • Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience in food manufacturing, with at least 2 years in a production management or supervisory role
  • Knowledge: Strong knowledge of food safety regulations, HACCP, GMP, and quality management systems. Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Skills: Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills. Ability to analyze data, identify trends, and make informed decisions.
  • Certifications: HACCP certification, Food Safety Certification (e.g., SQF, BRC), or other relevant certifications
