Marketing Manager

The Marketing Manager needs to spearhead marketing efforts in Jamaica. This individual will develop and execute a localized marketing strategy, ensuring alignment with brand and business goals while addressing the unique needs of the Jamaican market. He/she will oversee the planning, procurement, execution, and trade-level activities that drive growth, visibility and positive brand connections in the consumer & shopper spaces for our client’s portfolio.

 

 

Key Responsibilities:

Operational execution within Facey

  • Materials procurement
  • Vendor procurement
  • Payments
  • Promotional pricing execution
  • brand sales support
  • Any additional task that the Facey brand manager was doing

Strategic Planning & Market Adaptation

  • Develop and implement a quarterly and yearly localized country marketing plan in collaboration with Category Managers, Trade Marketing, and Digital Marketing tailored to the Jamaican market.
  • Incorporate consumer insightstrade intelligencecompetition analysis, and category trends into strategy development.
  • Customize global brand toolkits to reflect Jamaican cultural and market specifics, ensuring relevance and effectiveness.
  • Define and manage the pricing strategy in alignment with market dynamics and business objectives.
  • A&P management and reporting

Procurement & Inventory Management

  • Manage the procurement process with local distributors to ensure quality, quantity, and cost-efficiency of point-of-sale (POS) materials and supplies.
  • Monitor inventory levels of POS materials and initiate reorders as necessary.

Media Coordination

  • Oversee the execution of the traditional media plan, including media booking and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders in the media industry.
  • Support and collaborate with the digital media specialist to enhance consumer engagement through innovative digital strategies.

Public Relations & Networking

• Lead local PR efforts, leveraging industry contacts and networks to maximize brand visibility through events and media coverage.

Trade & Field Operations

  • Spend at least two days per month in trade visits, assessing supermarkets, wholesalers, and convenience stores using the Propel trade assessment tool to generate actionable reports.
  • Engage with distributors’ sales teams to present marketing programs and ensure alignment with trade initiatives.
  • Sales Alignment & Forecasting
  • Collaborate with the Country Manager to review and align monthly sales forecasts with marketing objectives.

Trade Intelligence & Competitive Analysis

• Conduct ongoing trade intelligence to track competitor activities, pricing, and performance metrics, ensuring SM Jaleel’s competitive positioning.

Hands-On Execution & Events

• Actively participate in promotional activities, trade consumer events, and advertising initiatives to ensure smooth execution and brand alignment.

  • FMCG experience
  • 3rd party distributor experience desired
  • Young and energetic that aligns with the brands to promote

The Marketing Manager role requires a dynamic and hands-on approach to executing marketing strategies in Jamaica. The individual must be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, balancing multiple responsibilities, and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders.

Work Environment:

  • Primarily office-based, with regular travel to trade locations, distributors, vendors, and media partners.
  • Frequent engagement in field activities, including trade visits, promotional events, and consumer activations.
  • Collaboration with regional and international teams to align marketing initiatives with broader company objectives.
